Traveling for the holiday's this weekend?

While this is one of the best times of the year, it can also be one of the most stressful if you don't plan properly.

Here are some quick tips to help ensure that your trip is as manageable as possible.

Arrive early. Airports are busier now than any other time of year. To guarantee as smooth of an experience as possible, be sure to arrive at the airport a few hours before your flight is scheduled to leave. This will give you extra time for the longer lines, security check or anything else that might push you behind schedule.

Don't wrap presents. All wrapped packages are subject to inspection, so it's easier to just wrap any gift when you land.

Consider shipping ahead of time. If you have many gifts to bring with you, consider shipping them to a friend or family member beforehand to avoid expensive baggage fees.

Double check what you can bring on the flight. Some airlines have different rules for what you can or cannot bring on a flight during the holiday's, so make sure you check with your individual airline before heading to the airport.

Watch your bags. Since the airport will be busier than usual, keep an eye on your belongings at all times to avoid theft.

Secure your home. Make sure your home is all locked up while you're away. If you can, have neighbors take your mail in. It would also be a good idea to have someone shovel if it snows so that potential burglars think you're home.
